Pride of Hindustan: Guest Is God — First Alberta Phase

The Indo-Canadian Film Foundation proudly facilitated the first Alberta production phase of Pride of Hindustan: Guest Is God, an India–Alberta collaborative thriller directed by Mumbai filmmaker Kajal Naskar.

The production team was in Alberta from August 21 to September 6, 2026, with principal filming taking place from August 27 to 30 in Parkland County, Red Deer and Hinton. Preparation and location scouting were also completed for the second Alberta phase, currently targeted for the first week of December, weather permitting.

The production featured Alberta lead actress Alleya Bourne and cinematographer Neelabh Das Chowdhury, supported by locally engaged cast and crew. Visiting team members Sanchari Ghosh and Tamanna Jindal also helped promote the project and its message beyond Alberta.

The collaboration advances an initiative that began with Alberta–India outreach in 2025 and was further developed during the January–February 2026 delegation to India led by MLA Shane Getson. The film’s ceremonial mahurat shot was held at the Bharatiya Cultural Society of Alberta during Hindu Heritage Month celebrations.

Following the next Alberta phase, filming is expected to continue in Jammu and Kashmir. ICFF looks forward to sharing further production updates, photographs and future screening information.
